The collection is based on the survival of humans in a post-apocalyptic world. Mixing weatherproof fabrics with delicate knitwear and chiffon I was exploring the idea that humans are fragile and need protecting.

The title of the project refers to the garments’ actual shelf life: each garment is meant to be worn out and not thrown away because of fast-changing trends. Who is he? Someone that is aware of his surroundings and wants to be seen in it.

Inspired by the courtesans who lived in Yoshiwara: a famous red-light district in Edo (1624-1644), present-day Tokyo Japan. “Muted Cries” wishes to articulate their silenced struggles from a contemporary perspective and personal point of view.

The starting point of Ida Klamborn´s collection is a single colour; red. Among all colours, it is the one with the deeper range of tonality. Through colour dyeing and pleating the designer achieves new dimensions of shades.

World’s oldest shoe dates back to 3500 B.C. Made from a single piece of cowhide, laced along seams at the front and back, with a leather cord. Very same technique used by today’s shoe makers. Does this make the early man astonishingly modern or us astonishingly primitive? Open and Shut is result of an experiment which serves as a forecast for the footwear industry. An innovative approach towards construction, material and shape. Technical buckles, hinges and pulleys are combined with architectural heels. Unusual openings give sculptural quality on and off; creating personality for each piece. Silicone coated surfaces, plasticized leather and foam pulls the shoes towards the future. Pushing the limits; result is shown as the skeleton of the shoes along with color and material library.
