Abott Mead Vickers

Round 02. 2011 Advertising London

Founded by David Abbott, Peter Mead and Adrian Vickers 30 years ago AVM is now the biggest agency in the UK and has held this position for well over a decade. With around 85 brands on the books at any one time AVM aims to deliver tailored solutions encompassing creative ideas that change the competitive landscape and set the standard rather than following.

A part of the BBDO network, which is the third largest advertising network in the world, with 287 offices across 79 countries, AVM is part of a network of agencies that are consitently rated as one of the most successful in the world.

AVM works across all media from digital to print and will utilise the media that will best suit the client objectives. The agency has produced some of the most iconic television ads of the last few decades and the TV ad ‘Surfer’ which was one in the series of Guiness ads “Good Things Come to Those Who Wait” was voted the best television ad of all time in a UK poll condusted by the Sunday Times and Channel 4. Not a bad piece for the reel.

The “Tipping Point” ad in this series is reputed to be the most expensive and complex Guinessa ads ever produced. Directed by Nicolai Fuglsig of Sony Bravia Balls fame, the ad features the ultimate dominoe tumble and includes 6,000 iconic B&W dominoes and thousands of quite unexpected toppling objetcs from suitcaes to cars.
